What a great day today! Labor Day weekend is here and the tomatoes in my garden are bursting with flavor only heirloom varieties can deliver. I just picked 9 pounds of brandywine, yellow brandywine and sunbursts for use on our homemade Buratta plate. For those who have not tried fresh Buratte imagine a wonderful cheese truffle made with homemade mozzarella and fresh mascarpone cheese wrapped inside. Mmmm. Anyway, enjoy those tomatoes from your garden or visit your local farmer’s market where they are bound to have a wonderful selection. When in the wine country this weekend stop by for this dish along with some great wine tastings from visiting wine makers Jim Maresh- Arterberry Maresh, Mo Ayoub-Ayoub Vineyards and Michael Mega – Nysa Vineyards. Have a great day. See you in wine country.

I wholeheartedly agree, your Buratta plate was a highlight of an already wonderful dinner. Must be those home grown heirlooms. Can’t wait to see what is done with the fall/winter crops.
Skal, Salud, Cheers!
